Still Have More Shopping to Do?

Last minute shopping tips

So tis the season to be jolly right?  Or is it the season to run thy neighbor off the road?  That's what almost happened to me last week....twice!  I really don't like being on the roads or in the stores when it gets close to Christmas.  Shopping around this time of year can knock the Christmas spirit right out of you. Here are a few tips to get you through if you have more shopping to do.

1. Do your online research and make a list.  That ...

Throw a "Noon" Year's Eve Party!

What fun is New Year's Eve to a kid who's in bed by 8 pm? Let younger children join in the festivities of New Year's Eve by hosting a "Noon" Year's Eve party or playdate.

For snacks, get cheese cubes, pieces of fruit and hot dog pieces and stick them with toothpicks. All kids love eating bite-sized foods from toothpicks. You can even get fancy and use the kind with frilly colors on the ends.

Get paper streamers from your local party store for kids and ...

  • scissors or craft knife
  • tape
  • Candy, trinkets, Mardi Gras beads, crayons, anything to fill up the poppers

  2. Next, cut the roll in half almost completely, but leave a small area ...

Reindeer Food: A Christmas Eve Craft & Tradition

Dry oatmeal
Granulated sugar

Colored sugar

The fun thing is that you can add whatever you like to it!  We have added m&m's and fruity pebbles before too!  Did glitter one year, but then realized that was not very eco friendly and ...

Tuesday, December 27 through Friday, December 30 - Santa is diving with the Sharks at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT

This holiday season, don't be surprised if a certain man in red plunges in with the divers to see if the sharks have been naughty or nice.
Would you jump into a tank of water filled with 6- and 7-foot sharks? Actually, it can be done – bloodlessly – because sharks aren't really the aggressive man-eaters of popular myth. Come see for yourself when The Maritime Aquarium's dive team spends some quality time among the sand tiger sharks.
Thanks to a cool communication link, you can even talk with the divers while they're in the exhibit with the sharks! They'll tell you that sharks should be respected ... but not feared.
