Macaroni Kid   Editions

Editor's Note

- Happy official spring. Things have been getting very busy for me. My younger daughter will be participating in Odyssey of the Mind this weekend. Since the competition is on Saturday, I'll extend a hearty "Good Luck!" to all of the teams performing this weekend.

- Just in time for spring, the weather gets According to WTNH, we will have some chilly temps tonight and tomorrow and wake up, maybe, with some slight amount of white stuff (yes, the dreaded word "snow") on the ground Saturday morning. You can always visit Fun Factor, our sponsor, because they are open to the public for bouncing every day but Monday.

- Get new clothes for spring at a bargain price with the Green Turtle Planet consignment sale. I'll be there!

- Kettledrum Farm in Southbury has become a sponsor of Macaroni Kid, and I am pleased to bring you information about their local summer horse camp. They have a special offer just for Macaroni Kid readers: a discount on their summer camp program!

- One of our Macaroni Kid publishers has shared her personal story of having a child diagnosed with Autism. April is Autism Awareness Month.

- Check out this article for 2012 Easter Egg Hunts, Bunny Breakfasts, Easter activities, and all around fun

- We also have a spring craft to make your own robin's nest or a caterpillar that grows its own fuzz (though you may want to leave it on a tray to make moving it indoors easy until the threat of frost has passed)--a cute activity for older kids and easy enough for littler ones. Celebrate the first day of April with some pranks! If you are looking for an edible Easter craft, then help the Easter Bunny get around more quickly with a car of his own. There is also a pizza for Passover that you can make with your little ones.

- Enter our sweepstakes for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus coming to the XL Center in Hartford May 10th through 13th. We even have a discount code.

- We have a new sweepstakes for Imagination Movers tickets. They're coming to the Oakdale Theater!

- Would you like to have a raucous evening with your girlfriends or a touching and hilarious night with your mother? Then check out Menopause the Musical at the Palace Theater. They've added a third performance on the 19th.

- Check this weekend's calendar of events, where there are many, many more kid friendly activities and events to do.
