-  I can let the cat out of the bag! The four Macaroni Kid editions in Western Connecticut are hosting a special evening just for women called Womanologie, the Art and Style of Being a Woman. The event will be held at Capellaro's Grove in Bethel Connecticut on June 8th from 7 to 10 pm. I am excited that it will help out EverWonder Children's Museum which is going to be built in Newtown. 

The evening is all about having fun with friends and celebrating being a woman. There will be special guest speakers including Personal Stylist, Allison McConnell, of AnalogueChic.com. The evening will also consist of raffle items and a silent auction with an “African Photo Safari”. Keep up with announcements at the website or on Facebook and Twitter.

Saturday, April 14 - Archeology Lecture Free at the Redding Community Center in Redding, CT

Acheology Lecture WCSU archaeology faculty Dr. Laurie Weinstein, Dr. Elizabeth Morrison and Dr. Cosimo Sgarlata will describe the remains of winter encampments of the 1st Connecticut Brigade at 3 p.m. at the Redding Community Center, 37 Lonetown Road in Redding. Weinstein, Morrison and Sgarlata have been researching, surveying, mapping and excavating the 1778-79 site that was home to part of General Israel Putnam's forces who camped at Redding to protect Danbury, the Long Island Sound and the Hudson River from invasion by the British. Since 2007, this Revolutionary War site has been the focus for the WCSU summer field school in archaeology.

Second Saturday Stars Program Two Daily High Tides: How Come? If we have clear skies for observing, we will be focusing on winter constellations, and other objects of interest. As usual, the large 16" observatory telescope will be used by our visitors, along with several volunteer telescopes and binoculars.
