Editor's Note
- WTNH is betting that the rain they've been expecting for the weekend is going to miss us. Whew! I know we need the rain, but I am hoping to enjoy the Woodbury Earth Day Celebration along with everyone else. I am volunteering with the children's activities. There are a number of free activities for the kid along with live entertainment all day long. I hope I get a chance to walk around and see the animals that will be at the vendors booths (llamas, goats, and more) and the over 100 vendors, including a number of informational booths. Find out more information at the Woodbury Earth Day Celebration website. You can also commemorate Earth Day is with this craft using a coffee filter and washable markers.
- Fishing season starts this Saturday, April 21st, at 6 am. Have you taken the kids yet? My husband likes to take ours out. If you're new, here is an article with some ideas to help you take that first fishing outing.
- I am always looking for ways to have fun with kids on the cheap and wanted to share free bowling every day all summer long. This is a great activity with the teen and tweens. Most of the bowling alleys include 15 and under and one includes 18 and under. Considering how infrequently anyone over 10 gets to be the same cost as any other child, that's a pretty big deal.
- Time is running out to save $25 a week on horse camp at Kettledrum Farm in Southbury by mentioning Macaroni Kid and signing up before April 30th.
- Giveaways! The Imagination Movers Giveaway was won by Debbie G. Not to worry. We still have four sweepstakes to enter:
- Ending April 19th: We have a SteveSong CD and DVD to giveaway to celebrate SteveSongs performing in Berlin. You read that right! I was so busy writing the newsletter that I had to extend the giveaway to tonight.
- Ending April 24th: Macaroni Kid has four tickets to the Danbury Kids Expo to giveaway in a sweepstakes.
- Ending April 26th: Enter our sweepstakes for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus coming to the XL Center in Hartford May 10th through 13th. We even have a discount code.
- Ending May 3rd: Looking forward to a fun spring event? Enter our sweepstakes for tickets to the Robin Hood Springtime Festival.
- Check this weekend's calendar of events, where there are many, many kid friendly activities and events to do.
