- I'm already thinking about the back to school preparations. If you were thinking of scheduling the back to school haircut, I posted on Facebook that jcpenney is offering free hair cuts for kids up to 12 years old during the month of August.

Edible Cooke Dough
Macaroni Menus
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1/8 cup water (more or less as needed)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips, M&Ms, or other mix-ins
- Cream the butter and brown sugar together until smooth.
- Add the vanilla.
- Gradually add the flour until it is completely mixed.
- Add water to adjust the consistency of the dough.
- Fold in the mix-ins of choice.
- Enjoy!
Zucchini Lasagne
Macaroni Menu
- 3 medium zucchini
- salt
- 32 oz jar of your favorite pasta sauce
- 1 lb ground beef, turkey or chicken
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 1 egg
- 1 (15-oz) container ricotta cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 oz shredded parmesan cheese
- optional: 8 oz sliced mushrooms, 1 cup fresh spinach or frozen chopped spinach, thawed

Fabric paint
Star shape cookie cutters
Paper plates for paint

1. Wash the T-shirt.
2. Cut out iron-on letters and iron into place on T-shirt, following package instructions.

- Strawberry, stem and hull removed
- Apple, cut into wedges
- Raisins (we used dried cranberries)
Instructions
An adult should do the cutting and your child can assemble the flower as follows:

Homemade Finger Paints
- 3 Tbls sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup corn starch
- 2 cups water
- Food coloring
- Combine all ingredients in small saucepan.
- Warm until mixture thickens, stirring with a whisk.
- Cool & pour into containers (I used 4 oz baby food jars)
- Add food coloring to create any color you'd like.
