Apple Picking Farms in Connecticut!

Fresh from the tree apples and a beautiful day out!

There is nothing like the crisp, fresh taste of an apple picked right from the tree! Connecticut's agritourism is alive and well! 

These orchards are open for apple (and even other fruit) picking in September and most of October. Always call ahead or check the website before heading out to pick to make sure you know when and where to go.

          

March Farm

  • 1/2 peck (5-7 lbs) $5
  • 1 peck (10-12 lbs) $10
  • 1/2 bushel (25 lbs) $20

March Farm is open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM for pick-your-own. March Farm also offers peaches for a short while into September. While you are there, visit the animal yard, the hayloft playscape, and the 5 acre corn maze ($3 per person and $2 per person for unlimited hayrides to and from the animal yard to the maze).

Lyman Orchards

Lyman's has pick-your-own apples daily, 10 - 5, from mid-August through October. Along with being able to drive yourself to near the active picking area, and the farm store and breakfast area, Lyman's is very well known for its corn maze. While you can get lost if you like, have no worries about getting out--there are helpers stationed through out the maze for those who wish a little extra help. Pumpkins are also available for picking.

Blue Jay Orchards

Blue Jay's is open from September 10th and stays open for pick-your-own apples 7 days a week from 9 AM to 5 PM all the way through October. For $2 per person, enjoy scenic wagon rides around the farm. Weekends has the hot dog cart, kettlecorn, funnel cake, and Italian ice. Pre-picked pumpkins are also available this weekend.

Rogers Orchards

Visit both Home Farm and Sunnymount 10 am - 5 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for apple picking. Nine different varieties to choose from, each ripening at a different time from Labor Day through October.

Karabin Farms

Karabin is open daily from 10 am - 4 pm, September through October. Apple picking is available all through September and also pumpkins in October. Enjoy hayrides on Saturday and Sunday. While you're there, you can check out the cows and bring home all-natural, home grown chicken, pork, and beef. Don't forget some mums to brighten up the front porch for fall. Now I know that those shaggy looking cows I've seen around are called Highland Cattle.
