Leaf Lacing Craft for Little Hands to Welcome Fall

Keep little ones busy and learning

By Michelle Melnik August 18, 2011

The first day of fall has come and gone.  In fact, the leaves are already changing.  With the changing season in mind, here is a perfect activity to welcome fall.

Material:
Construction paper (brown, red, orange, yellow)-

Glue

Hole punch

Ribbon or string

Glue stick

Instructions:
Draw or trace a tree trunk using the brown construction paper and leaves using the colored paper.

Punch holes in the leaves (for younger children, punch larger holes)

Thread the ribbon through the leaves.  Once the ribbon is through, tie a knot in the ribbon, and have your children glue the leaves to the tree.
