The Smithsonian Magazine has encouraged museums across the country to join in Museum Day. Museum Day allows two people from a household to get free admission into participating museums. You can print out the tickets after filling out a form.
A number of local museums are participating. It’s a great way to enjoy a favorite for free (or greatly discounted if you still need to pay for the rest of your family). It’s also an opportunity to try a new location.
I’ve listed museums participating nearby and then a bit further out. The Smithsonian Magazine has information at their site.
