Easter Activities in Western Connecticut 2012

Easter Activities:

Southbury residents, stop by the Southbury Parks and Rec and take a guess at the number of jelly beans in the jar.

Take an Easter Cupcake decorating class at the Silo Cooking School at Hunt Hill Farm. There are two classes: noon and 3 pm. Sign up an adult (parent, grandparent, big sis/bro) and a child for $75.

3/23/2012 Weekend

Brass Mill Center mall has a big, free Kids Fest planned on the same day the Easter Bunny comes to town; March 24th. The Kids Fest is a free family event for kids 2 - 12 to enjoy activities like face-painting, crafts, games, prizes, and dancing. The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures (there's a 35% off pictures, early-bird coupon here which is good until Friday) through April 7th. 

Starting now, the Easter Bunny is at the Danbury Fair Mall.

The Westfield Trumbull mall will welcom the Easter Bunny on March 23rd at 4 pm wth a concert with Java John Fogarty.

The Newtown United Methodist Church is having an Easter Bunny breakfast on March 24th. For $22 per family, get pictures, a little gift for the tykes, and food!

An egg hunt for up to 11 year olds sponsored by the Terryville Lions and Leo Clubs is on March 24th at 1 pm at the Terryvill High School. Rain date is March 25th. Bring a food item to donate.

Geppetto's Toys will have the Easter Bunny and Tractor Mac along with a visit from a petting zoo on March 24th starting at 10 am.

The Easter Bunny loves trains. The Danbury Railroad Museum will have Easter Bunny trains on March 25, March 31s, April 1st, 6th, and 7th. Go any of the day between 12:30 and 3:30 to catch one of the trains that runs every half-hour.

3/30/2012 Weekend

The Naugatuck Parks and Recreation is hosting an Easter Village at 258 Rubber Ave. starting on March 30th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, continuing through the weekend and again Easter weekend. Visit the Bunny for free and enter to win a prize by guessing the number of jelly beans in a jar.

Flanders Nature Center Members can enjoy a story, a hike, a craft and an egg hunt April 1st from 1 - 3 pm for $10. Remember to register by calling 203-263-3711 x 10.

The Easter Bunny will be making an appearance at the Shephardson Community Center in Middlebury on March 31st at 8 - 10:30 am. 

A scavenger hunt for Easter in the Easter Island of the Timexpo Museum will be on March 31st from 10 am to 1 pm. Join the Easter Bunny to hunt eggs, learn about the museum, win prizes, hear a story, and watch a movie. Admission is $3, pictures with the bunnny will be $5, and a photo clock will be $15.

4/6/2012 Weekend

Meet the Easter Bunny on the Naugy. The Railroad Museum of New England is running three, 80 minute train rides in their vintage car to meet the bunnny himself  at 10 am, noon, and 2 pm on April 7th. These rides are becoming a tradition for us.

Hunt for eggs and enjoy rides at Quassy's annual Easter Egg hunt on April 29th at 3 pm. There will be prizes and fun for children.

Easter Egg Hunts, resident only:

Bethlehem's community Easter Egg Hunt is on April 1st. Bethlehem residents are invited to bring a canned good to donate, a bag to collect eggs, and meet the Easter Bunny at Gallop Field behind town hall at 1 pm.

Bridgewater residents whose children are 1- 10 years old can hunt for eggs on April 7th at 10 am at the Bridgewater Pavilion.

Brookfield is hosting its Easter Egg Hunt at town hall at noonon March 31st for a $1 fee. Residents 1 - 8 years old are welcome to meet the Easter Bunny and hunt for eggs. A special treat for grades 3-5 will be the flashlight hunt at 8 pm on March 30th. Pre-registration for both by calling Brookfield Parks & Rec.

Middlebury United Congregational Church will host an Easter Egg Hunt on April 1st for children up through 7th grade with varying locations around the church for different grades.

Naugatuck will host its 2nd annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 21st from 12 to 3 pm for Naugatuck residents with children ages 2-10. Pre-register by calling 203-720-7071. The egg hunt will include the Easter Bunny, Sparkles the Clown, a bounce house, and more at the Field Complex at 543 Rubber Ave.

The Easter Egg hunt for Oxford residents will be on March 31st at 1 pm with a donation of an item for the Oxford Food Bank. The Easter Bunny will be making an appearance.

Children living in Roxbury will have an Easter Egg hunt at 9:30 am on March 31st at the Minor Memorial Library.

Southbury Parks and Recreation is hosting an Egg Hunt for residents at Ballentine Park, 601 Old Field Rd for Southbury residents. 

Watertown's Easter Egg hunt for residents will be on April 7th at 10 am in the John Trumbull School cafeteria.
