Southbury Kmart: Located in the Southbury Plaza, Kmart is a one-stop shop for the back to school items found on any child's school supply list. Kmart has everything from backpacks to pens, pencils, notebooks and more. Best of all, they also have great deals and coupons on many of the essential items we will all be buying this summer. Newbury Place: For your fashion forward tween or teen, this quaint little shop provides a unique assortment of fashion, jewelry and accessories. Their items have a one of a kind feel and are sure to provide a little bit of flare to any "first day of school" outfit.
Southbury Green Shopping Center: This shopping center has it all, and may be the only stop you need in your back to school shopping journey! Here at the Southbury Green you can find Gymboree, Gap Kids, Staples and even a Starbucks (for the very necessary caffeine break!). The convenience of this shopping center, as well as the variety of shopping options, is especially helpful when you are short on time and when you need to make sure you find something for everyone!

Some of the items found in thrift stores are gently used and even in some cases brand new! If you have the time to search for the correct sizes, styles or items it is certainly worth the effort to save money! Here are two thrift stores in our area that may have some of the back to school items you are looking for!
Southbury Training School Thrift Shop: A great stop for items like clothes, toys, books and games. You may also find a few fun items for yourself along the way.
Safe Haven Thrift Shop: You may not find a strong selection of clothing for younger children, there will certainly be items for tween or teen girls.
