Mark Your Calendars: Lots Happening in 2018

As a mother of two young kids, I am so glad to live in a community that offers wonderful programs for children and families throughout the year.  As your Macaroni Kid Publisher, I love being able to share all of these great programs with friends, family and my readers.  With that being said, I wanted to finish out 2017 by giving you a sneak peek at a few of the great events and programs coming up in 2018!  Grab your calendars and get ready to plan for an exciting 2018 filled with loads of family fun, memories and more!  

Watertown:

1.  Shamrock Shuffle 3.5 Mile Road Race, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Polk School, 437 Buckingham Street

2.  THE EASTER BUNNY COMES TO TOWN:  Come along to hop with the Easter Bunny! Create arts & crafts projects, enjoy playful activities, and bring your own hard-boiled eggs that you can decorate. Watertown Parks and Rec will provide snacks.  Participants will also join the Easter Bunny in a parade around the school. Scheduled for Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at John Trumbull School, Cafeteria. 

3.  MEMORIAL DAY PARADE:  The annual Memorial Day parade will start off from the Watertown Plaza parking lot beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 28, 2018. The parade will travel to the OAKVILLE GREEN this year.

4.  TOWN-WIDE TAGE SALE (YARD SALE) SATURDAY, JUNE 16, 2018 RAINDATE: SUNDAY, JUNE 17, 2018:  Sales will occur in front yards, garages and on sidewalks throughout the Town. A uniquely Watertown/Oakville event involving citizens, businesses, churches, civic groups, associations, Town leaders, neighbors and visitors building community and identity.

Bethlehem:

1.  Bethlehem Country Fair:  The annual Bethlehem Country fair will take place September 7-9 2018.  Enjoy all of your fair favorites like rides, games, food, animals and crafts.

2.  Bethlehem Christmas Town Festival:  The 38th Annual Christmas Town Festival will take place December 7th and 8th 2018.  

Southbury:

1.  Southbury Parks and Rec Snow Sculpture Contest:  Ongoing until March 30, 2018.  Submit your best snow sculpture to parkrec3@southbury-ct.gov

Middlebury: 

1.  Opening weekend at Quassy:  April 28th and 29th.  Quassy opens for its 110th season!
