As a new mom nine years ago, I found myself headed to Walgreens with a two-month-old in need of her first prescription. Tired from being up all night with a screaming baby and full of worry about this small, sick child of mine, I headed straight back to the pharmacy. The pharmacist took one look at me and knew I was frazzled and full of fear. She explained to me in the kindest way how to administer my daughter’s medicine and then talked to me mom-to-mom and gave me some tips from a veteran mom. To this day, I am still touched by how much she cared for not just my daughter, but for me.
Since then, we’ve made hundreds of trips to Walgreens. During this time more than ever, I’m so thankful for the Walgreens drive-thru where I can safely get prescriptions filled without having to leave my car.
We’re in a crazy time in our world right now, there’s no doubt. There’s so much stress and sadness in the world, but there’s also so much good! I was reminded of this a few weeks ago when I headed to Walgreens for a prescription and some other OTC medicine for my nine-year-old ‘baby.’ In a world where everything is changing so quickly, I love that I can count on Walgreens to always care so well for my family and our community.

- To every single employee at my Walgreens, thank you for working and giving of yourself so tirelessly during these unprecedented times. Thank you for keeping the store open and stocked. You are ‘essential’ on so many levels!
